Hello June, Do I Hear a Windchime?

No photo description available.Well, another month is in the rear view mirror and I am sort of surprised that 2023 is moving along so quickly. I guess that happens but I have said many times that the warm weather months do pass more quickly than the cold. I suspect that combining indoor and outdoor activities keeps us busier. My roses are blooming, the elderberry bushes are stunning with heavy blossoms bending the fine branches.

Sewing, whether it be quilting, garment, home dec, or craft stitching, you can rest assured that it is always more than it seems. A recent conversation with a new quilter reminded me about how multiple math computations are required for making and trimming our blocks. Learning how to stitch that scant quarter inch seam is a feat that requires patience and practice. Any aids such as a special foot for your machine or a magnetic guide to assist with that is a good thing.

Curiosity and research is often a companion to the stitcher. I know that this is my passion and also my downfall in a way. I can go down a rabbit hole in a blink with a good book on the embroidery bullion. And of course, who doesn't need tools, notions, and storage solutions. Smart people know how to arrange all those special-to-us items. I just received a sweet little wooden scissor keeper for my birthday, something special to me. I have a small assortment of scissors that I have received over time and I like to see them while I'm working.

The month of June is a beautiful and charming month. Warm breezes, the scent of flowers and green grasses. Weddings, graduations, showers, and celebrations that will honor our fathers in our lives. So dear stitching friends, embrace the joys of June. As we stitch away on our projects, remember that we are a strong and special union of like minded friends. See you next week for the 30 day challenge for cleaning up our studios and sewing spaces. Have a lovely first "official" weekend of June. We have waited a long time for this blessed time of year.
