A Sunday Special from Maple Lane House-Comfort Food, White Bean and Ham Soup!

By the Sunday after Thanksgiving, I am not looking for more Turkey, or left overs. No. I want to put something together that is warm and filling. Soup fills the bill for me. This one, after many versions is likely my favorite one to fill that need. A made-from-scratch white bean and ham soup that I usually start the night before by soaking the beans. The layers of flavor in such a simple dish make it just right for Sunday afternoon!

You need a nice heavy bottomed pot to prevent sticking and burning. I have started this one in the crock pot, it was too watery, put it in this pot for 20 minutes, perfect. Recipe on Kitchen Chronicles, HERE!

I am a fan of cast iron, have been using them for years, but, they are really heavy and I find that retrieving them from low cupboards is difficult. So this one sits out for three months, during the Fall season. It will be stashed this week. Hope you are well, good to hear from you!
