A Procrastinator Shares A Planner For Your Projects

Recently, almost everything I read is leaning toward softening the emotional cost of the quarantine. How it affects each of us is different, of course, but as persons who create I see a sense of letting go of the angst and finding the hope in finishing the project...so to speak. So let us look at all those UFO's and set up a plan for dealing with them after the New Year.

For me this means passing on or donating items that have been languishing for one reason or another. One of the bloggers I follow featured a beautiful (to me) blue and yellow quilt that she spent hours and hours working on and in her words..."hates it!" She has opted to sell it on Facebook Marketplace to recoup a fraction of the cost of the fabric. I think that is a good idea. Let it go, if you don't like it now 20 more hours of quilting and binding are likely not going to change your opinion.

This one is exactly where I left it 6 weeks ago.

Projects like this have been around for some time. Many quilters and sewists have adopted the first of the year to begin and to track and tally the progress. Before the crush of the holidays is a good time for me to decide what to keep and what to move on. I will make a tracking sheet for each project and go from there. I have 4 tops to finish, one needs a border and binding made. The other three need quilting and binding. Just 4, not too bad for me, the others have moved on.

These backing fabrics are ready to work!

Waiting for some attention, need to get moving on this one for sure. It is chilly here!

Time and circumstance have surely limited my sewing time. With Fall clean up, kitchen planning, and delays, the direct and indirect repercussions of the Covid, I simply have let time slip away. That has to stop, right? So, I plan to attach my go-to information sheet to each item. A few purchases of batting and thread will be required. This is my favorite tracker. Available for free HERE

  •  I know that I need structure and plan. It's a thing. Therefore, the Tracker.
  • One of the reasons I have not loaded the long-arm to quilt is a health issue. In September I  had to have several lymph node biopsies for abnormalities seen on a routine screening mammogram. Well, of course, I had to have a complication. Despite great care I had some bleeding and resultant hematomas, large ones that limited the function of my right arm. While I will need to follow-up with additional testing in the future, right now, we are benign. For this I am grateful.
  • I am safe now to work so no excuse there!
  • Off to the printer I am, must get started.

My dear friend, I hope you'll soon be fully recovered from the biopsy's 'needle work'. Good to hear the results were benigne.
May you soon be able to use your arm again for stitching.
My candle's burning for you and your health, too.
Oh, the monkshood....stunningly beautiful.
Blessings,

Jeanneke.

Glad you had testing, even though it's not pleasant and has a recovery period. And really glad it was benign!

Hard to believe how much time has elapsed in this Covidness.
