Welcome to Maple Lane House

We noticed in these English mysteries that all the old country homes didn't have street addresses, they were given names. So if you are sending someone a Birthday Card you would address it to "Maple Lane House!"
Through this Winter, Husband and I have become thoroughly enchanted with BBC murder Mysteries. As a result, our passion for English architecture. From brick and rabble stone-face to the thatched roof of old style Tudor cottages we have enjoyed the scenery as much as the story.

Anne Hathaway's House-Stratford-upon-Avon, England.
We built this house in 1974 and moved in October. The leaves into the woods where we situated the house were glorious shades of gold, oranges, reds and greens. The Maple trees were welcoming us. Thus, we named this house Maple Lane House! The programs we had watched through the dark and dreary days of Winter prompted us to have a name plaque made.

June is traditionally the month of Roses. Flowers are spilling out of urns and planters all through the neighborhood. The lush growth reminds us daily that our lives can be full of joy or just plodding along.  Celebrating the new season and the new babies coming into our world is one of those great joys of living a bountiful life. There are challenges, of course, but the heart lifting new life brings it all full circle. Despite ill health, grief and pain, a beautiful pathway lined with flowers to a birth of a child may your life be filled each day with the joy that is there if you only seek it.
  • Some of our favorite BBC mysteries: Father Brown Mysteries, Midsomer Mysteries (favorite) and Inspector George Gently. All available on Acorn TV.

I know. They are interesting, don't reveal the murderer in the first 10 minutes, make you think a bit and no vulgarity in word or person. We are hooked! Glad you agree!
