The Little's: Quilts That Is!

Little quilts, quilts for baby dolls, quilts for table mats..........it's all good. Fun finishes, quick finishes, almost instant gratification. Not every project needs to be the "project of a lifetime." Hardly. There are many patterns available for everything from a simple pincushion to a table runner that can be made using your quilting techniques. From gifts to home decor, if you quilt, you've got this!
One of two doll quilts made by Mary Jane from The Ladies of the Cloth group, this little cutie has all the hallmarks of a large quilt just in mini-proportion.
A traditional x-pattern quilting line disects each block on the diagonal. The fabrics are bright and pastels with pops of white.
Just look at that itty-bitty miter on the corner. Sweetness.
Not one to be falling behind on her seasonal decor, Terri, also from The Ladies of the Cloth group shared a work in progress. A Halloween theme table mat has been constructed from a strip set featuring theme fabrics and cut using a triangle template. Too cute Terri! She plans to use a Thanksgiving theme fabric for the backing and thereby creating a dual purpose mat. Great idea.
  • A great way to use those left over pieces of fabric, a small quilt can help reduce the stash.
  • A doll quilt can be a great little gift for a young girl. It introduces her to the craft and it is so personal, so special.
  • Consider small quilts for candle mats, place mats, table runners, tray mats. The list is endless.
