The Ladies of the Cloth Share,

After a brief absence from the Ladies I was happy to meet up with old friends. As usual, there are many projects in progress and here are a few pics to show you.
When you look at this beautiful two color quilt it clearly illustrates how modern quilting is alive and well. Two color quilts are very popular in quilt books and magazines right now. The irony here is that this quilt is 50 years old, a wedding gift to Rose and her husband from her Mother. It is beautiful.
Each block is a work of art. The pattern reminds me of the traditional Rose of Sharon design but Rose thinks this one is called Spring Rose. The pattern was printed on a Mountain Mist batting wrapper in the 1950's or not later than 1960's. At the time Blue was Rose's favorite color, now she says she could not choose a favorite, she like them all!!!
The binding is applied much like a facing, I have never seen this application before.
Hand quilted, it is a treasure. Rose has decided to pass it on to her Son. Lucky Man.
