Well puppies, if you quilt or sew just about anything the answer is a resounding Yes! No matter how many times I say "I don't need any more fabric" I quickly follow my self directed comments to the simple fact that this is not about need. It is about passion, creativity and supporting local business. Yes, I am going there. I am mad about beautiful fabric, I am always looking for ways to use different sewing notions and I find the atmosphere in a great quilt shop to be a type of contagion. I look at a difficult pattern and think....I could do that! I look at all the great quick quilts and projects and know that I could do that as well. *finally found my little camera, buried under a large piece of piano key border that was under a few piles of new fabric surrounded by scraps of another project. This is why I need to clean more often:):):)
A recent purchase, these linen/? woven table runners with the hemstitching are just begging for adornment. I have one half done and will share soon. Not expensive ($14.00) I think, they are a blank canvas for the machine or hand embroiderer.
The Sewist is now tempted with some of the nicest Kitchen towels to embroider, embellish or adorn with applique. These little beauties screamed Christmas to me. I plan to add some cute applique's that I will cut with my Accu-quilt Cutter. You don't need a fancy cutter though, by using the motifs on Christmas themed fabric one can cut all sorts of colorful and decorative items. BTW, these are for me!
You know I love my doo-dads. Just check out this practical rotary cutter/scissor holder. Good for class, for traveling projects or even as a holder for your favorite marking pencils. It doesn't take much to set my heart a-flutter.
Speaking of flutter....just look at my new giant ric-rac! I have already gifted some towels trimmed like the ones I showed a few weeks ago. All with Harvest and Thanksgiving themes, they were big hits!
This green is slated for Spring decor. I wound both of them on those packing noodles I saved from the landfill a few weeks ago. My only glitch was that each of them were the first off the roll and each of them had little fold dinks. I steamed and pressed to get those creases out. Sort of a pain. I will reject any more with that flaw. They were wound that way from the factory.
Well, that's all for now. I have some nice fabric photo's to add soon. I never cease to be amazed at the quality of the fabric and the designs available now. Remember the calico days, the poly/cottons blends and the poor dye quality? Thank our lucky stars that the quilting Gods are again in power!
