Get The Popcorn Ollie, She's Got More Quilts!

My colorful work-in-progress! Still, this is not a marathon....good thing :) :) :)
As I continue to study the 2014 Show Quilts I am inspired to continue to work at this passion. I so enjoy the planning of the design, the fabric selection and the final product. I think that free motion quilting is my favorite construction element. I do not, however, have the urge to be a show competitor. I have examined that feeling over and over recently and am reminded of a time when I had a small sewing business quite a few years ago. Of course, I had a full-time job in addition to that and quite frankly I started to dislike sewing. Alterations were torture. Dressmaking became very tedious and home dec projects were the bane of my existence.   If I delve into making a 'show-worthy' quilt I know that the old tedium will return. Can't do that. I really enjoy quilting and I don't want to be poisoned by the associated stress. I know I rather over think all this but that is how I roll.

Again, bright colors and geometry, stars, beautiful.
I really like all the center medallion quilts I saw this year. This color combination is stunning in person, I apologize for my quick photo's.

A Modern representation of flying geese, the quilting is outstanding on this one.
Just wanted to add a little note. I don't know who did each of the quilts, mostly. I was just trying to get as many photo's as possible before the doors opened. I didn't get a chance to get them all.  Next year I will try another tactic. In the meantime, I have many more photo's to share along the way.
Under Wraps :)
