Bits and Pieces, Reading, Cooking, Sewing, Pie in the Sky

May be an image of text that says 'Well, you almost made it into Heaven, until you used your wife's fabric scissors to cut paper... www.daisymanor.com'I just had to share this one. Years ago, someone in this house, committed the unbelievable offense of doing this. At Sunday dinner, it is still talked about. 😀

  • The current watch, Pie in the Sky on Acorn, UK series from the 1990's. Combine a little sleuthing and gourmet restaurant and you have a charming little Winter watch. Watch Pie in the Sky on Acorn TV
  • A new day book to read by Shannon Ables of the Simply Luxurious Life blog and website. I have been following her for about 10 years, this is her 3rd book. Insight, lifestyle, fashion, and home making. Available on  Amazon and booksellers,  The Road to Le Papillon: Daily Meditations on True ContentmentThe Road to Le Papillon: Daily Meditations on True Contentment.
  • A new pattern to test, Style Arc, Courtney.
This one is a bit of an experiment mostly because the two front seams. I need to size the shoulder down, as usual, but "the girls" still need their space. I don't care for the cap sleeves so that is still up in the air. I will sketch it out first, find a stable jersey in the stash and see how it goes.
  • For a claustrophobic person, an MRI is much like the guillotine. However, the equipment has improved, Mozart was on my mind, and a plan. Using a practiced method of visualization I spent that 25 minutes planning a sort-out for under the bathroom vanity and some new organizational ideas. Seriously, it was a productive exercise.
  • A lovely salmon is on the schedule for Friday. My plan is to devise a balanced seasoning of freshly ground pepper, freshly grated Parmesan, a just a hint of lemon zest. All blended into a brown butter glaze. I have been watching lots of cooking shows.
  • Today is baking day. A couple pistachio cakes and some cookies for the church fish fry since I am not able to stand and bread 400 lbs of fish at a time anymore! I have a container to return to son and GF, she made a lovely vegetable soup for our dinner the other day. I like to return a container filled with a treat or two.
  • Then back to the straight stitch machine, I have a darling little table runner to work on and sometime this weekend, the bits and pieces quilts will need loaded on the Coronet. I have plans. See what happens when I have 25 minutes for free thinking!😎
