What do you do with a Bee Themed Fabric. (Deb Strain for Moda) mmm? I saw the sketches she did for this fabric line last year during a presentation at an event sponsored by Gloria Horn Sewing Studio, Mt. Lebanon. What amazing talent Deb has. She is also a great presenter. As an artist, she transfers her talent onto fabric.

So, my friend Terri just happened to pick up some of this fabric when it became available (she lives near the shop, that would be not good for me, I just have to say) here.

Who knew the famous hexagon could be so darn cute? Terri used all the colors of the theme fabric in making the hex blocks and that solid gray background makes the designs pop. Using a poly batting added dimension to the blocks but also added a bit of a challenge doing her ruler work. Using the Baby Lock Coronet, Terri did a great job outlining each block. A little additional manipulation of the ruler was required to compress the fabric while stitching and I think she did a great job. Notice that she used two different border quilting designs.
