Quilts with a Center Focus, More Quilt Show Quilts

The Medallion style quilts are in another category. With the center panel of the quilt being the 'focus' of the theme one cannot help but admire all the intricate piecing used to make that center panel stand out. For example, just look at the great use of pattern and color in this one. We have framed borders, cornerstones, half square triangles, sawtooth rows, stars and flying geese. A variety of patterns cohesive with color.

Another example of a center panel design is this beauty. Each surrounding block is a differnt design with the same colorways.

And finally, just look at this wall hanging size quilt. The theme is Christmas with the holly trimmed Christmas bells. the knot frame (Celtic Knot?) it beautifully executed. The paisley fabric on the outer border is very dimensional and really doesn't show well in this photo. Also note the clothes pins on the edges of the quilt. These were provided so that the viewers could turn the quilt to view the back without touching the quilt itself. Good idea.
