A New Quilt Shop, In Somewhere Land

Christmas Decor
Like many of my acquaintance I succumbed to the little ceramic house trend in the '90's. The Dept. 54 Christmas Village was the first Holiday decoration to be set up. Not a minor project mind you. First, climb the attic stairs, then haul the giant bins with weighty delicate ceramics inside. Then unpack each box scattering little styrofoam beads here and there. After placing the house properly,  running the cords,  setting the relay switches etc. the base village was done. Then the snow and  the little  pieces . It was charming but furniture changes made the set up  impossible for the last few years.  Dear Son and DIL now have the Village.  When I saw  this  (Michaels I think) I was reminded. How I wish I could go back to that time and my Fantasy Village with the happy lights  in their little windows at Christmas time.
