Show Prep, The Three Rivers Quilt Guild Show

From the outside looking in I was always amazed at how much work was involved in producing a quilt show. From the inside looking around all I can say is OMG! Much planning and hard work by dedicated quilters creates one of the premier shows in the tri-state Mid-Atlantic area. It has grown significantly over the years. My contribution is comparitively small, but as explained by the shows leader, everyone has a job to do and when that is all done it comes together. That is how it works so well. No one person is overwhelmed because the tasks are divided among the membership.

I am in charge of the raffle baskets, termed "Dream Baskets. " I will get some photo's after the set up. As a group we gather donated fabric, notions, books etc. to sell at our flea market called Granny's Attic. A big highlight of the show, you never know what you will find. A kind person donated about a thousand yo-yo's. I spent an afternoon sorting and bagging them for the sale. That's a lot of yo-yo's!

At first I separated them by color and tone, then just by pattern, then after 3 hours, they looked pretty good in mixed bags!

Generous designers, manufacturers, quilt shop owners and Guild members contributed to the baskets. Thank you everyone!

A thousand / 1000 yo-yos... That's an awful (excuse me) wonderful lot!
You did a great job sorting and bagging them.
Hope you'll have a successful sale.
Cheers,

Jeanneke.
