Wednesday progress-#1

Well, here it is Wednesday already! I am trying to keep my promise to myself to plan and update progress twice per week. I hope this will keep me motivated and inspired.
A little history. I have been sewing since about age 9. I have tried just about every type of needlework known to mankind. At one time, in the last century (; I also did custom clothing and home dec as a business. The name of my little business was "Sewing Plain and Fancy." Lesson learned. For me, making a hobby, a craft, a passion that I loved into a business ruined my mojo! For several years after closing that chapter I did little sewing. Now, however, the passion is back. Different but present just the same. So, refining my work habits has permitted me to accomplish much more. Now remember there are lots of projects "in-the-pipeline" so to speak, but this self-directed forum will keep me honest, I hope.

i worry a bit about that...as i transition to trying to make a living from my creativity, but for now, it's still loads of fun and i feel excited sewing things up for a market. i think i'd feel differently sewing clothes for other people tho'...that might do in my mojo. but i think i can quilt for them no problem.

i guess time will tell!

I think the key for me was the "custom" component. I think I met more wacko's in that period of time than in my entire life. I think your project, production for sale at market, consignment or Etsy, is much different. And much better. I am going to contribute to some else's Etsy shop to increase their volume. While your work is custom by its nature, you are not necessarily custom fitting a person or custom decorating a room. I also maintained a full-time job during this (mis) adventure!
