Now you are not seeing the wrong colors, it is not the camera, these are made from scrap yarns and wool roving, as practice. I will think of them as abstracts. So anyway, I cut a small squarish piece of craft felt, this lovely moldy looking green and started laying down thin layers of roving. I extended the roving sort of "in the air" beyond the craft felt in the rough shape of a leaf. I then laid down the veins out of a self-patterning wool yarn and felted them lightly. After this I cut a leaf- shape with sharper points. The round do-dad is supposed to be a flower, sort of a sunflower. Note the eyelash ribbon around the center. Obviously, I need lots more practice:)
