At This Busy Time of Year....

Crochet as Wall Art

Gettysburg-Homestead on Facebook

I would bet that I am not the only one with doilies just hanging out in linen closets. When I saw this I knew that I had to share it. Using a blank artist canvas and a little glue ( I am thinking spray adhesive) you have decor. If you wanted some color, painting the canvas before mounting the doilies would be a subtle accent. I remember my Maternal Grandmother called doilies doities. I always thought they were doities!

Artsy, French Country Chic, Shabby Chic, Farmhouse Chic....what ever name you want to call it, finding a secondary upscale look for your Vintage crochet is a good thing.

*In total contrast to the delicate romantic quality of crochet lace I have included a link to a Masterpiece Theatre podcast with Sir Kenneth Branaugh, from the Wallander series.  This is the final season for Wallander and that is a sad moment for me and many others. If you have never seen the series make a point to start from the beginning years. It is a dark series, crime, drama, brooding. Love it.  Interested? click here.
