Pierre-Auguste Renoir -- Vase of Flowers, 1886.

Color, light and dark, balance. What do you study for inspiration? Fine art is a medium beyond all others, IMO. Just this week in the administrative offices of our city public schools an amazing painting was "discovered." It will be sold for a large amount to assist in the funding of the Arts Program. This is one of my favorite Renoir's. The blue/grays, pops of yellow and clear and translucent whites...I see a quilt. Do you?

Those colors would make a beautiful quilt. I like quilts with subtle color variations, and even monochrome.
