A Wednesday Winter Wonderful Find

While scanning the local drug store for cold remedies, I wandered past the magazine section. You never know what you will find. I love magazines, always have. It is a big world out there and these periodicals give me a glimpse into beautiful design and opportunities captured on their pages. This one is brand new, the first copy. Hoffman Media has produced another interesting and well planned journal of the the domestic sort. Everything about "the cottage" from window seats. hobbies, collections, furniture and quilts. There is even  a cooking chapter appropriate to seasonal fare. Here is a brief tour.

Beautiful and cozy interiors grace the pages.

A vintage cottage kitchen updated with fresh colors.

And what cottage, Winter or Summer, is complete without quilts?

Decor that showcases the quilt.

The back cover, a study in the Winter Garden!

A continuation of the quilt story.

A cable knit pillow, possibly a sweater, refashioned?

Timely tips for caring for your new and Vintage quilts.
As usual I receive no compensation from Hoffman Media or any of its affiliates, but I felt that this copy was worthy of sharing. Some interesting notes: The cover, front and back, are printed on a non-glossy paper. So nice. The depth of color and the dimensional effect was what caught my eye among the hundreds of other magazines on the rack. This was the only copy. The decorating ideas range from traditional to log cabin. While my "cottage" never looked like this, I can dream. Can't I?

I like that cable-knitted pillow. I could do that. See, that's the problem with seeing something you like--when you know you can make it and then don't!

Oh Gwen, I know. I have files of things I want to make, in categories, from 30 years ago. I need to live to be 1000 and not see anything else to finish even half of the pile!!!
