Sew and Sews, October 9, 2012

so sorry about the dark photo, these fabrics and blocks are amazing!
Pat and her Daughter went to a TRQ sponsored retreat recently, a great way for them to spend time together. No men, no kids, no cooking. Time to learn and work on quilts! Look what she brought back!

Jenny is doing some paper piecing, her dyed and painted fabrics.
The back looks as neat as the front!
Marion has really been busy with these little 1 1/2 inch strips. Sewn in strips of six then cut with an angled ruler. Wow, what great colors and pattern to make this star!

Isn't this little Log Cabin block incorporated in a scissor case adorable??? Jenny picked it up from an Amish vendor.
This group is all thanks to Susan. This is a kaleidoscope block. Using a template, the fabrics come together to create an engaging design.

The way this last block comes together looks like a little eye in the center!

Of course many other projects were in various stages. Rose is still working on her tiny hexie's, several ladies were working on hats using our favorite looms, Kay was binding the scrap quilt you saw last week.

We are getting ready for our Fall High Tea as well. Everyone is looking forward to our field trip to the Boston Shoppes Tea Room. Final count is due to me by October 19th. Please call or email if we haven't spoken.

Till next week dear Sew and Sews.

I forgot to mention that these are pieced by hand stitching. Susan found the template in a magazine. The shapes remind me of little kites.
