The Chick Feeder Pincushion from Karen at Sew Many Ways

Are you familiar with Sew Many Ways? Karen is the hostess over there and she has some of the best ideas I have ever seen. Last week her "tool-time" Tuesday" features a great little pin-cushion made from a Chicken Feeder from Tractor Supply. Well, when I saw this I was thrilled. I love to have lots of pin cushions around but this one is a step above. So, right after my Tuesday Quilt Group I headed down the highway to Tractor Supply. I called ahead to see if they had the item in question because it was about 45 minutes out of my way, each way. They had 5 the young man told me. I bought all five. Several members of the quilt group were interested in the project as well. Here is a photo of Karen's prototype:

cute and functional, yes?  it is made of galvanized metal, cost is $3.99. Can't get much better than that unless you choose the red plastic version, it is about a dollar less but lacks character and presence in my opinion! The link to Karen's blog is:                    http://sewmanyways.blogspot.com/

My version, ta-da, in Spring colors with a few polka-dots, I am a girl who loves her dot's, could not help it!

Gratuity Moment: do-dad's, always had a passion for things like this.

Gratuity Moments: My Morning Coffee, scalding hot  in my favorite mug. I have a thing for cups, mugs, dishes ect. They are little pieces of art for me.
