Two Great Ideas, Neither of Them Mine

Another rainy day, good day for working on the Fall/Halloween Quilt. I need to pick up sashing and borders.

We are still very green here, because of all the rain, except for the butternut tree in the left corner, naked. But it always looses its leaves early and drops its nuts. The squirrels are so happy!

Raindrops on coleus. One of my favorite plants.

Some really great things are illustrated on other sewing blogs. Here are a few that might interest you.

Legwear is on most minds now that our seasons are turning cooler in the North. This clever blogger has great photo's and a tutorial about how to jazz up your legs. What a great idea.

If you are just learning to sew or know someone who is may I recommend a fellow blogger, Leah. She had a great idea to start from scratch to help her friends who want to delve into our world. Here is the link to her site, the process starts today with listing needs.

tomorrow, the choices for the first blouse, the number one pick and the fabric.

Gratuity Moment: during the ill spell I had a lot of time to think about how I, and many I know,  have faced life's challenges while continuing our sewing pursuits. The sewing, whether garments, quilting, knitting, crochet, provide a structure that supports the large and small moments of life.

I'd love to do a quilt sometime. I tend towards sewing ADD (I have about 10 half finished items begging me to complete them in my sewing room) so maybe quilting squares would be just the right size project for me ;)

Is it possible that you can see the large smile/smirk on my face? I wish I only had 10 unfinished items. I have at least 6 quilts in progress, at least 6 more planned + garments. I just made myself anxious thinking about it. I suggest a simple project using pre-cut fabrics. A nice easy introduction to a passion.
